Mercer Brown

Mercer Brown, of Johnson and Brown Company, was just 20 years old when the National Melon Distributors Association was formed. In spite of his young age at the toe, his company was one of the largest dealers of watermelon out of Florida and Georgia.

In 1919, he became vice president of the association and held that position into 1920. After his vice-presidency, he held a position on the executive committee and was the Legislative Committee chairman in 1921 and 1922.
