EPA Publishes Update on Herbicide Strategy

The EPA updated its Herbicide Strategy to comply with the Endangered Species Act. A four-tier system and educational materials will simplify mitigation requirements. New techniques like erosion barriers and soil amendments will expand mitigation measures. Voluntary practices and low runoff potential will lessen the mitigation needed. The EPA is refining maps to conserve more species. The final strategy will be published by August 30, 2024.
